Subject: An update from Donna
Dear
Lance,
I
know it's been a while since I have written one of these eTeam Updates - not
because nothing is happening, but because there were so many urgent things
Roger needed to report to you. You may be wondering, what's going on with
Donna?
Well,
I am still writing books for children, in addition to being involved with local
evangelism and discipleship and, not least, mopping up after Roger! My
non-fiction book Wild West Adventures for ages 7-12
continues to sell steadily. The publisher has asked me to write one in
this series on New York City, where our daughter Millay has lived for the past
four years. They have also agreed to one on Cambodia, where our son,
David, and his wife Laura have lived until recently.
These
books contain interesting info combined with spiritual insights, so they have a
devotional feel. Of course they contain the Gospel. Recently at
church I was chatting with a single mother who has an 8-year-old
daughter. The mother told me her daughter had recently prayed to trust
her life to Jesus while reading the book! I pray there are many
others out there like her.
If
you have not already seen my website, please do check it out: www.donnavann.com My books can be
ordered from Amazon via links on my site, but they are also available at other
com sites.
I
am also leading the youth drama group at church, which means I write skits and
help direct a group of 11-14's as they perform in church. Can be a
white-knuckle experience, but mostly fun.
In
addition, as I'm on the prayer team at our church, I sometimes get to
know women who are struggling or hurting. Please pray for me as I
spend time with these women, that I will have insight from the Lord and the
energy needed for these relationships.
Finally,
two not-yet-Christians: Sushama and I attend exercise class
together. Over the years she and her husband David have come to Christian
events with us, but have always kept their distance from really engaging with
faith. However a few months ago they agreed to meet with us and go
through an evangelistic course. They aren't ready yet to take any action
on this, but are moving in a positive direction.
Val
leads the class which Sushama and I attend. She has terminal
cancer. I've had some good conversations with her about faith, but there
has not been the chance to really lay it out in a way that she can understand
it. I am hoping to do this next week. Thanks for your prayers for
both these women.
And
thank you for undergirding both of us and our ministry in prayer. We
don't take it for granted!
Love,
Donna
